Ser_Tick
RS-232 to Ticket Dispenser
Overview :
The Ser_Tick accepts RS-232 data at several BAUD rates from any source and utilizes the data to control the behavior of a DL-1275 (or equivalent) ticket dispenser, with or without feedback to the controlling system. It has been designed to meet the needs of OEMs embedding PC’s into games or other systems that require ticket dispensing. It alleviates the need for custom hardware or software to control a ticket dispenser in realtime. The actions of the Ser_Tick are very user/programmer friendly and all options are DIP switch selectable.

How to control the unit :
Just send the Ser_Tick a data byte 0-255 and that is number of tickets to be dispensed. The Ser_Tick can buffer up to 32 data bytes so if more than 255 need to be dispensed just send the appropriate data. That means the game can vend up to 8160 tickets without waiting to send more data. By setting the hand shaking to the desired level you can achieve as much or as little direct control as you need. There is even the option of handling the Deltronics 2 by 4 unit for those bigger tickets.
